Q&A Jonny Owen Actor



Next up we have Merthyr born actor, writer, presenter and now Mountain Ash postman turned cult movie star Jonny Owen. Jon has become one of the most popular actors in Wales and has starred in TV and movies such as Shameless, My Family, a bit of Tom Jones and even Match of the Day! However, his biggest achievement to date looks to be the rapidly becoming cult status of his brainchild Svengali, the story of a loveable, musically obsessed postman from the Mount! Here’s what he had to say..

What did you have for breakfast?

I had brown toast with honey and a cup of tea. It’s what I have every morning.

What’s good about your home town?

The people. Funny, irreverent, wicked, gorgeously nosey and generous.

Provide us with a synopsis for your autobiography in 140 characters and what would it be called?

Welshman with a wanderlust life and tries just about everything in the arts world except fashion and painting. Although I may start a label one day and invest in some brushes, a canvas and an easel. That’s everything covered then.

It would be called Oi Taff!

If you could punch one celebrity in the face with absolutely no repercussions who would it be?

Without a moment’s hesitation, it would be George Osbourne.

Tell us something not many people know about you?

I used to box as a kid and still train a few times a week on the pads and bags.

You’ve got £300 to spend on one new item of menswear. Tell us what you’re gonna be buying?

Decent Trainers, nice pair of jeans, smart polo shirt and with the change I’d have a few pints and maybe a curry on the way home.

Fred Perry – The daddy of them all.
