Q&A Dan At Casual Connoisseur

Dan Dan Dan

Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan……….Meet a good friend of mine, Dan. He loves a pint, possesses a fondness for shoes and jackets and has a very unusual sleeping pattern.  The other half of Casual Connoisseur, Dan and his twin brother Tom are working on several projects at the minute but when pressed on what they are most looking forward to next year, they both replied in unison, they’d Rather Not Say. See what I did there…….Anyway, here’s what Mr Vearnals had to say.

What did you have for breakfast?

Pushed the boat right out today, a Wetherspoons all day (Veggie) brunch and a cup of sweet tea.

What’s good about your hometown?

Stockport can claim several notable figures; famed architect Norman Foster, a certain Frederick Perry, climber Peter Boardman who died up Everest, Corrie perma tanned eye candy Michelle Keegan, the utterly brilliant Timmy Mallett too, and my personal favourite, Peter Butterworth from the Carry On films.

Strawberry Studios made and mixed albums for the likes of 10CC, the Smiths, Joy Division, the Hollies and the Happy Mondays too.

We also used to have a half decent football club who once made great headlines and punched well above their weight for many years, now they couldn’t even punch Shirley Temple.

Provide us with a synopsis for your autobiography in 140 characters and what would you call it?

Seems too much like hard work for me. I’d do a graphic novel instead, with a readership of probably just one. Id be like a modern day People’s Poet on a quest for fun, with dead cool illustrations of loads of sex and ultra violence. I’d travel across America in a silver Land Rover Defender wearing a Deerstalker hat with Nicki Minaj and Irene the Dream off Instagram as my sexy sidekicks.

If you could punch one celebrity in the face with absolutely no repercussions, who would it be?

I’d thump Miley Cyrus right in the fanny!

You’ve got £300 to spend on one new item of menswear, tell us what you’re gonna be buying?

I’ve got enough coats at the minute, tough one, that new 6876 Oxford shirt, and I’d stretch the rest pretty far on some vintage wares – Goretex coat, suede shoes and a nice titfer. Easy.

Favourite 3 labels over the last 20 years

Stone Island (old)

6876 (classic)

Engineered Garments (current)

If a film was made of your life, tell us four songs that would definitely be included on the soundtrack including one for the closing credits?

Romeo and Juliet – Dire Straits

This is What She’s Like – Dexys Midnight Runners

Colors – Ice-T

God’s Cop – Happy Mondays
