Q&A Carl Burnham Co-Founder Good Measure

IMG_4211

Carl is known by everyone in the fashion game and has been about for years. He worked for Aspecto in Manchester in the early 90s followed by working with several brands, eventually starting his own agency in the late 90s. Now making some noise with the fantastic Good Measure label, which has been snapped up by some very good independents in the UK and Japan and is definitely one to watch in 2015. PS Note to female readers, Carl does not look like this anymore, I’m not saying he’s lost his looks but I just do not want to fool anybody out there, especially my legion of lady followers…Here’s what Carl had to say..

What did you have for breakfast?

The usual, a double espresso followed by another double espresso.

What’s good about your hometown?

Not a lot, I grew up in a pretty mundane village in the home counties although Roald Dahl lived down the road. I met him once, that story impresses my girls.

Provide us with a synopsis for your autobiography in 140 characters and what would you call it?

Playboy, visionary, philanthropist, retired at 40 and all round good guy.

I would call it ‘The Dreamer’

If you could punch one celebrity in the face with absolutely no repercussions, who would it be?

I’d rather have a kiss and cuddle with Kylie if that was an option.

Tell us something that not many people know about you?

I’m not a Manc.

You’ve got £300 to spend on one new item of menswear, tell us what you’re gonna be buying?

A trip to M&S to freshen up on underwear the rest spent on fast cars, women and drugs. (Dreamer)

Favourite 3 labels over the last 20 years?

Stussy – although over the years the tees seem to have got smaller.

Vera Shoes – the owner is a Welsh genius

Good Measure – a great bunch of lads and nice sweatshirts.

If a film was made of your life, tell us four songs that would definitely be included on the soundtrack including one for the closing credits?

I’d go for a balearic/house theme, something like 24 hour party people but about me!

See dreaming again, so here goes….

Weekender (Weatherall mix) – Flowered Up

Your Love – Frankie Knuckles featuring Jamie Principle

Energy Flash – Joey Beltram

Come Together (Weatherall Mix) – Primal Scream
