Orsman Clothing is the brainchild of former skateboarder turned gallery owner, Greg Finch. Throughout his career Finch has turned his hand to many things, working with the likes of Pointer, Palace Skateboards and recently resurrecting 80s surfwear brand Life’s A Beach. His latest project is, however, certainly focused on the new; utilising taped seems and waterproof fabrics within an aesthetic that balances the line between streetwear and sportswear.
Spring 14 is Orsman’s first season and features a comprehensive array of technical outerwear, reverse cotton sweats, bucket hats and tees; just in case summer decides to appear in the UK. The well-rounded collection doesn’t simply pander to the streetwear stereotype; reflecting the brand ethos of exploration and discovery beyond the concrete jungles in which most brands thrive. It is a shift away from the pseudo-grittiness propagated by many, in favour of a more knowing approach.
